Today we took Jack fishing for the first time. He was really excited to go. He picked out his fishing pole, which of course was Spider man. The first spot we tried had only little fish that would just take the worm. Jack kept saying "I want to catch a fish". Eventually he got board and started to throw rocks in the pond. He found that more interesting since Danny had the fishing pole the whole time. After about 30 minutes of the fish just taking the worms we decided to get back in the car and head down to the trout stream on post. Jack got lucky there and caught a small fish. The pictures I have of him catching the fish are a little blurry because the spot that they caught the fish was a little steep for Ava and I to walk down to.. Jack was so excited to catch a fish.He was yelling "Mom I caught a fish. Look mom.." Moments like that make all the hard work of raising children worth it.

Moving Baby

Ava is becoming extremely mobile. She is rolling all over the place and is starting to get on all fours. I went into the kitchen to take out the bread I was making and I came back out to find her under the end table happy as can be. Well just for a few minutes.

Our Day At The Lake And Our Attempted Camping Trip

This weekend we tried to go camping. The weather was great and we spent some time at the lake since it was Danny's battalion's organizational day ( mandatory fun is what Danny calls it). Jack and Ava had a good time swimming and enjoying the sun. Once we got all settled into the camp site it started to pour. The rain here usually stops after about 20 minutes but not this time. We ended up packing everything in the jeep at 10:30pm and went home (the tent started to leak). I was a little disappointed because it takes so much time to prepare a trip with 2 children. Maybe next time we decided to camp it will turn out better..

Pool

Today Danny had the afternoon off before his flight tonight so we decided to take a swim in the pool. The family time was a nice break between my school schedule and Danny's work schedule. Jack and Ava had a good time.

Jack fell asleep on the top bunk and I couldn't help taking a few pictures of him. He looks so peaceful.

Yesterday I gave Jack some yogurt as a snack and went to finish cleaning up the lunch and when I came back in he had given Ava some. It was all over her face and I couldn't help but laugh because it looked so funny on her. I just had to remind Jack that he can't give Ava the food he eats since she we have just started rice cereal.

An early Father's Day present for Danny

So the insurance totaled out Danny's bike and not even two weeks later he found a new bike. Since Father's day is this coming Sunday he got a new one. We ended up driving to Florida to pick it up. So here is a few pictures to highlight the trip, mostly the kids riding in the car (we didn't do any sight seeing since we had to be back by Sunday). I was completely surprised on how well the kids did. Ava was so great for such a long 3 days of driving. She will be ready for the trip in October. Jack just watched movies and slept most of the way. Where were the DVD players when I was a kid??? I also add a few pictures of the new bike. Yes, it is the same make, model, and color. Danny is not much for change..

Danny Vs The Road

So I finally let Danny get a bike.. The Idea was to save money on gas. Well he took it out on a Saturday afternoon with some friends and it looks like the road won. Danny was ok besides the road rash on his arms and side, thank goodness. The bike was not so lucky, the handle bars broke, all fairings had damage and the gas tank was pretty bang up. So when it comes down to it Road 1 Danny 0.

Jack is always asking to take pictures so I finally let him have the camera. Here are some of the things he felt were important enough to capture with a photograph. I was completely surprised when I looked at the pictures he took. I might say we have the next great in photography on our hands..

Ava has finally figured out how to roll from her stomach to her back now and is all over the place.She has been rolling from her back to her stomach for a while now. This morning I placed on the living room floor and went into the kitchen to clean up after breakfast and when I can back she was in the basket of toys across the room. I guess she didn't like the toys I left her to play with.. Boy, I am in trouble now.
